Hybrid nanoassemblies for application in theranostics
The understanding and the tuning of physico-chemical response of nanomaterials at the biointerface offer multifaceted options in nanomedicine and especially in theranostics (i.e., diagnosis + therapy). Hybrid nanoassemblies made of supported lipid bilayers/nanoparticles (e.g., plasmonic Au/Ag, graphene oxide)/peptides will be synthesized and characterised – also at the interface with cells - by various spectroscopic, acoustic biosensing (quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation, QCM-D) and microscopic (atomic force, AFM, and laser scanning confocal, LSM) techniques. The student will be trained on state-of-the-art methodologies in the physical chemistry of soft-wet (bio)interfaces, materials chemistry, inorganic/organic synthetic chemistry, biophysical and biochemical techniques.
