Mass spectrometric investigations of metalloproteases activities of interest in Alzheimer’s disease
Mass spectrometric methods coupled with HPLC will be applied to study the activity of metalloproteases which are able to degrade amyloid beta peptides, the accumulation of which are involved in the development of Alzheimer’s disease. The effect of different molecules as well as metal ions as possible modulators of enzymes activities will be also investigated and the student will learn how to study molecular interactions by mass spectrometry.
