Eurasia Project - Revitalizing European Studies Across Asian Universities
On Monday 22nd October, in the main hall of the "Palazzo Centrale" of the University of Catania, kick off of the training week for Chinese and Indian professors organized within the framework of the "Eurasia Project - Revitalizing European Studies Across Asian Universities".
The project coordinator for Unict, prof. Francesca Longo (Department of Political and Social Sciences), hosts for two weeks delegations of the partner Universities coming from China (Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Beijing Foreign Studies University) and India (Jindal Global University and Symbiosis Law School). The European project also involves four European universities: Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" (Bulgaria), Jagiellonian University (Poland), The Languages Company (UK) and Université de Versailles St-Quentin-en-Yvelines (France).
In the course of two weeks (22 October – 3 November 2018), the participants will be trained on the development of new courses and study programs in European Union studies with the aim to improve this topic in China and India.
Eurasia Project
- Eurasia is a 3-year action, funded under Key Action 2 "Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education" of the Erasmus+ Program. It is a capacity building project in higher education aimed at strengthening the academic ties between higher-educational institutions (HEI) in 4 program countries (Bulgaria, Poland, France and Italy) and 4 HEIs from 2 partner countries (China and India). The project addresses the challenges and needs to establish, update and modernize curricula in EU studies in a globalizing world and refers to the strategic priorities of the EU Global strategy 2016. EURASIA presents an equal opportunity for capacity building of all partner institutions based on shared ideas, educational know-how and resources, transparent management procedures and empowering of all stakeholders.
