Computational Genomics and Personalized Medicine

The Lipari School on BioInformatics and Computational Biology (July 12-19, 2014 - Grand Hotel Arciduca, Lipari, Italy) is organized by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Catania.

Computational Genomics and personalized medicine is the most challenging research area in the modern era. The main goal, with the participation of special guest lectures, is to address the scope focusing on algorithms, computational models and biomedical results on this field.  The selected themes have received much attention in the scholarly literature ranging from Nature and Science to Bioinformatics Journals.

The Opening Lecture is by Prof. Michael Levitt (co-director of the school since 2005) who has received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry 2013.
